Harold, as an American Red Cross officer, was instrumental in supporting and sustaining the Guduric family in the bleak years after World War I in southwestern Serbia. The family, including Slavoljub's father Cedo, as a young boy, extended that legacy through stories telling of Harold's deeds over the course of the next century. On the 106th anniversary of Harold's death, Slavoljub came to Colorado to honor the memory and deeds of the Grand Junction man by laying a wreath at his Orchard Mesa gravestone.
Today we honor the sacrifice, dedication and remarkable character
of Cedo, Slavoljub
and Harold.
